Planned Parenthood Board Member Works in Office of D.A. Who Indicted journalist David Daleiden

Life News reports that a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney’s office serves on the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood. This is alarming because that office led a grand jury investigation that cleared Planned Parenthood of any wrongdoing in selling fetus body parts and instead indicted the investigative journalists behind the videos. Lauren Reeder is a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney’s criminal family law division. Reeder is listed as a non-compensated “Director” on the 990 Tax Form for 2014 filed by Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast. Anderson told the Houston Chronicle that Reeder “will not be involved … Continue reading Planned Parenthood Board Member Works in Office of D.A. Who Indicted journalist David Daleiden

Muslim prayer room at Catholic high school in Michigan sparks debate

Some parents outside Detroit were questioning a Catholic high school’s decision to allow a special room for Muslim students to pray, Fox 2 reported Wednesday, according to Fox News. Brother Rice High School, an all-boys school in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, reportedly granted a request from Muslim students to use the religious reflection room throughout the day. Roughly a dozen of the school’s 800-plus students are Muslim, according to WXYZ. One unnamed parent told the news station the room was “unconscionable,” arguing that her son’s paid Catholic education would be “undermined.” Fox 2 reported receiving similar criticism. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/12/16/muslim-prayer-room-at-catholic-high-school-in-michigan-sparks-debate/?intcmp=hphz06 (Editor’s note: This … Continue reading Muslim prayer room at Catholic high school in Michigan sparks debate

Brooklyn school principal bans Santa, Thanksgiving and Pledge of Allegiance

Santa Claus is banned. The Pledge of Allegiance is no longer recited. “Harvest festival” has replaced Thanksgiving, and “winter celebrations” substitute for Christmas parties, Fox News reports. New principal Eujin Jaela Kim has given PS 169 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, a politically correct scrub-down, to the dismay of teachers and parents. “We definitely can’t say Christmas, nothing with Christmas on it, nothing with Santa,” PTA President Mimi Ferrer said administrators told her. “No angels. We can’t even have a star because it can represent a religious system, like the Star of David.” Kim, 33, did not return a call or … Continue reading Brooklyn school principal bans Santa, Thanksgiving and Pledge of Allegiance

Atheist: Air Force football prayers ‘putrid’

Franklin Graham posted this on Facebook about the Air Force Academy, which is under attack by an atheist group: Atheist Mikey Weinstein and his ironically named Military Religious Freedom Foundation is now picking on the US Air Force Academy (Official) football team! After seeing Falcon players kneel in prayer before last Saturday’s game against San Diego State, he says it must stop. He said Air Force players participating in public prayer “is a scandalous outrage” and calls it “a disgrace” and “a putrid example of Christian supremacy.” Since when is voluntary prayer scandalous or putrid? The Air Force Academy now … Continue reading Atheist: Air Force football prayers ‘putrid’

Archbishop Welby’s fury at cinema ban on ‘offensive’ Lord’s prayer

Britain’s biggest cinema chains have banned the screening of a film in which the Archbishop of Canterbury and members of the public recite the Lord’s Prayer – because they say it could be offensive to movie-goers, the Daily Mail reports. Odeon, Cineworld and Vue have refused to show the one-minute film the Church of England planned to run in cinemas across the UK before the new Star Wars blockbuster, which opens a week before Christmas. Last night the Church of England threatened legal action against the cinemas, saying it was the victim of religious discrimination. The astonishing decision to block … Continue reading Archbishop Welby’s fury at cinema ban on ‘offensive’ Lord’s prayer

Might offend non-Christians? Man told to remove Christmas display

Todd Starnes of Fox News reports on a homeowners association that is waging war against a man’s Christmas display. Jeremy Morris, of Hayden, Idaho, normally does an annual Christmas display including tens of thousands of lights, a Living Nativity, a 22-voice choir and a camel named Dolly. Last year he bought a house in a neighborhood run by the West Hayden Estates First Addition Homeowners Association. They were especially upset about the religious nature of Jeremy’s display – as noted in a certified letter he said he received from the homeowner’s association board. “I am somewhat hesitant in bringing up … Continue reading Might offend non-Christians? Praising Jesus against the Law in Canada?

The City of Toronto is refusing to grant a Christian group a permit to use a prominent downtown square for its annual musical festival next year, because the city has decided that singing the name of Jesus in the public venue contravenes city policy against “proselytizing,” Breaking Christian News reports. Voices of the Nations (VON) has been using city property since 2006 for an annual “multi denominational” event in which it celebrates Christianity through live music and dance. It has been using the Yonge-Dundas Square without issue for the past five years. This year’s August 1 event attracted 19 different … Continue reading Praising Jesus against the Law in Canada?
