Senate panel moves to strip UT diversity funding

Tennessean: A panel of state lawmakers voted Wednesday to strip state funding from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville’s diversity office following months of outrage from Republican lawmakers over two controversial posts on the office’s website. In September the Knoxville diversity office published a column encouraging students and professors to use gender-neutral pronouns such as ze and xym when people requested them. BreakPoint: The Indictment of David Daleiden

John Stonestreet off BreakPoint has a great commentary on the madness surrounding the grand jury’s indictment of the investigative journalists who exposed Planned Parenthood’s evil methods. Here is an excerpt. A link to the full article is below. To put it very mildly, what happened in Houston was ironic. While Daleiden’s actions amount to a prima facie – the legal phrase meaning “at first glance” – violation of Texas law, no one believes he intended to buy fetal tissue. His and Merritt’s goal was to expose those who profit from this gruesome practice. Daleiden and Merritt announced they will surrender … Continue reading BreakPoint: The Indictment of David Daleiden

On at least two separate occasions last month, female students spotted cell phones being held over the stall partition to record them while they bathed. The perpetrators have not been caught. No word yet on whether the victims will sue the University for putting them at risk with the policy, which restricted women’s ability to bathe and use the toilet away from the presence of men. From the Toronto Star: “Toronto … Continue reading Voyeurism incidents lead to closure of Gender Neutral Bathrooms on Toronto College Campus

Tennessee marriage defeat part of early struggle vs. U.S. courts

Chattanooga-area state representative Mike Carter, an attorney and former Hamilton County sessions judge, joined in voting against marriage Jan. 20 in a Nashville state subcommittee, David Tulis reports. Says Cal Zastrow, a backer of the biblical doctrine of the lesser magistrate who attended the hearing: “He clearly acts in support of the rule by courts, not by law. His position condemns American independence as anarchy and rebellion. It also condemns obedience to God, whenever tyrannical courts order it so. Just before voting to uphold perversion, he even said, ‘God doesn’t have to tell me how to vote on this. I … Continue reading Tennessee marriage defeat part of early struggle vs. U.S. courts
