Fox News: Memorials to veterans in a Los Angeles neighborhood and a town in Kentucky, as well as a Civil War veterans cemetery in Virginia, were damaged as the nation prepares to mark Memorial Day, officials said. A Vietnam War memorial in the Venice area of Los Angeles has been extensively defaced by graffiti. The vandalism occurred sometime during the past week, KCAL/KCBS-TV reported. Woman charged after taking down U.S., state flags and stomping them at Red Clay

Times Free Press: A woman has been arrested in Bradley County after an off-duty deputy reported to Tennessee State Park rangers he saw her take down the U.S. and Tennessee flags at Red Clay State Park, place them on the ground and stomp on them. The woman was arrested by park officials with assistance from the sheriff’s office and booked on two counts of desecration of a flag, vandalism under $500 and criminal trespassing, Bradley County Sheriff’s Office spokesman James Bradford said, according to the Times Free Press.
