Two days after Houstonians voted against an ordinance allowing transgendered people to use the bathroom of their choice, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson suggested the creation of a “transgendered bathroom” to solve the issue, Washington Examiner reports.
Carson made the comment during an interview with Fusion’s Jorge Ramos, in which he also said that while he’s for equal rights for all, including the LGBT community, he isn’t for giving them or anyone else “extra rights.”
“How about we have a transgender bathroom?” Carson asked when Ramos asked him about the now-defeated ordinance. When the host asked him if that’s his solution, Carson said. “Sure, absolutely.”
